Just got to know that one of my junior college schoolmates went over to United Kingdom to begin her University life, and another currently in University of Western Australia; the one which I've been enrolled into. Next year, one friend of mine is also going over to University of Queensland in February. I applied for UQ initially, but God gave me UWA, which also turned out to be a good University. Words can't describe how I'm feeling now, but I'm definitely excited about it. Even though I may defer my studies in Aussie, I know I'll be heading there. Clear direction, no where else. Singapore is just not appealing to me at all, or rather anymore. I'm sure God is leading me to somewhere better :) It's already 4am in the morning. Good night, folks.

The hot humid weather in Singapore makes it challenging to keep cool while running. The body loses water in its effort to keep cool and along with it the salt as well. It is important to maintain the fluid and salt balance in the body to ensure it performs well in a race and to avoid heat illnesses.

DO’S

Plan your re-hydration during your training runs.

For long runs, consider using sports drink to replenish salt and glucose levels.

Experiment with different sports drinks - taste is unique to individuals.

Weigh yourself before and after each long run - you should keep your weight loss to less than 2% of your body weight.

Do start re-hydrating early in the race, not when thirst sets in.

Replace your water loss by 150% in the next 6 hours after a race.

DON’TS

Undo your efforts in training by leaving your re-hydration to chance - no matter how well trained you are, dehydration will rob you of your performance.

Drink alcohol or caffeinated drinks during recovery as this promotes fluid loss through the kidneys.

Experiment with re-hydration drinks during the race - settle your choice during the training runs.

Drink too much - you should only drink enough to maintain your weight loss to 2%.

Leave it to your thirst - camels know how much to drink instinctively, we don’t.

When running has become part of my life.

Today I've completed a 10km run followed by a 30-storey climb at the NTUC building. Not unusual to many, those who know that I've been running since the start of last year. Up till now, I still have no idea how I got "addicted" to it. Good thing, perhaps. It was tiring climbing up the stairs after the run especially when the leg muscles got so strained. My first marathon of 2011, more to come & I'm glad my timing has improved.

Not surprisingly, the Singapore Blade Runner was at the event too. It was an honour to run behind him for awhile, & he was the man who kept me going throughout the race, even during the climb. I felt like stopping. But the moment he ran past me, his determined gesture spurred me to persevere on. It was the fact that I had perfect limbs & I knew that I shouldn't give up. Thanks to him, he'll be my source of motivation in my upcoming marathons.

Another New Year.

Ready to embrace this upcoming year?

As we go on, we remember, all the times we had together.

I thought I should post something in this very new year; while I see I still have the time.

Something's bothering me but I can't make out what is it. I'll leave it to God to decide. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying whatever I'm doing now. Now I can say I'm living a life of what I've always wanted, though I still very much miss studying. True enough, it's even more tiring than studying for the 'A' levels, this I can assure. But then again, it's something I love doing & something which I'd forgo my sleep for. Which is why despite the physical fatigue that's draining my poor body inside out, I'm literally still alive.

Work's going fine, getting the hang of it but anyway, it's going to end in a week's time. I miss everyone, I know I'm a workaholic, not just about my job but having other commitments as well. This is me all along & after these few days of self-reflection at random timings of the day, I've again arrived at a conclusion that I only get to live once and it needs to be more than just this; I want it to be meaningful & fulfilling. This self-realisation has already dawned upon me years back, just that I only got to execute it for the past two years, by putting words into action. And thankfully, it has been an eventful journey for me. I may not have grown to be a better person, but one thing for sure; I've learnt.

Lots to pen down, I'll leave it till the next time. Can't wait to be back in church.

Over and done with.

Time flies, & now we're all done with the gruelling 'A' levels. Rather shocked that I managed to tune in to the post-exam period w/o much time lag, as I thought I would.

Youth Camp's over as well, I'm sure it was a refreshing time for the youths! May He continue (in whichever way) to plant the seeds in the hearts of the many youths who have yet to be saved.

Taking up 3 jobs, but it's under the same event. Gonna go around to promote the tickets soon! Work starts tomorrow, and I'm sure it's gonna be fun :)

Pass-it-On Youth Camp (27th to 29th Nov).
I wanna thank God for the salvations received & the presence of God throughout the camp. Weather was good, so games could be carried out. Pardon me, but it rained today after the camp has officially ended! Haha, Praise the Lord man. Thank you my dearest food sub-com & Auntie Patsy! Without you guys, I'd be doing it all alone & everything would be so chaotic. Thank you camp committee! Had fun with you guys this year, especially during the last night when we were out for debrief, everyone were like malfunctioning & talking "nonsense". Hahaha probably too lethargic. Thanks to everyone who has guided me along the way, I've learnt so much that I could use it for application in future. I guess one "regret" is not to be able to participate in the activities with BFC, but I believe we can always organise activities among ourselves. (: What really touched me was when I knew of someone who came for the camp when initially she didn't want to. So I asked her why she came in the end. She told me she didn't have the money to pay for the camp, & prayed to God that if He provides, she'll definitely go for the camp. And true enough, through some ways, the Lord provides & she could come for the camp. Praise the Lord!

Mr Sabar treated us to dinner on a Tuesday night, Sakura @ Northpoint. 0931B's a great class, more challenges next year, but we won't give up! :)

JC1 Camp.
Wednesday to Friday, though we didn't have the full strength, we enjoyed the camp a lot! Jin Tian, our camp instructor made us realised things that we did not discover. On the 2nd night, we were asked to form a circle & share views of the individuals, whether or not the 'perceived' opinion has changed. Tears started flowing while we took turns to share, & in no time, we were crying as a class. It was then I realised we treasured one another so much & it hurts to see some leaving us. Whatever the case, this realisation may have came a bit late, but we've indeed learnt so much.

Got back overall results, amazingly passed all the subjects. The 3 "awards" above are given by my Civics tutor. Really thank God, it's something I least expected. Especially the one shown in the 1st photo. I remembered during one of the sermons, Pastor Daniel preached something about boasting in the Lord. It feels good, really. PTL!

Live with Passion

接下来的日子会更加忙碌，但我很享受这种到处奔波的感觉。也得开始复习课业了，以应对明年那“极大”的挑战。希望能快点考取驾照吧，要不明年恐怕也没有多余的时间。

Tuesday - Handball in the morning, it's getting really funnnn! Lunch at Toa Payoh with the usuals. Filming at night. Hilarious, hahaha :D

Wednesday - Handball in the moring! Five hours at LingJia's house helping with Project Work. Thankfully the topic I had last year was much easier. Haha.

Thursday - Handball again. Pegasus programme @ LT3. Lunch at Mos Burger. Meeting with committee @ PAHQ regarding next year's Chingay till 11pm. Okay, it's getting exciting though Sye Mun ps-ed me ): Haha. Didn't even know how to arrive at the place initially, so I just took mrt to Farrer Park. Thank God I found my way there through walking! It's quite beautiful there, in terms of the design and multiple seminar rooms. So met with the committee & mostly were adults, but they were really nice, friendly & funny! :D Under the manpower sub-com, I/C's Hwee Fen! Finally got to meet her, we've been communicating through sms-es & emails only. Oh, not to forget there's people from costumes sub-com & training sub-com as well! Anyway, after briefing we had to try out one of the sections that'll be part of the Chingay parade. And .. it's damn fabulous? The choreographer came down as well to guide us along. Woo, it's gonna be very interesting next year! Okay, also got to know Wei Liang who's in the same sub-com as me. He's quite nice to offer to send me home but in the usual tactful me rejected. Felt bad lah but then .. lol.

Friday - Handball, team won! Yay, G2 rocks & we got a bottle each for the prize :D Pegasus Programme @ LT3, Principal had a talk with us. She's leaving us next year to MOE HQ ): Lunch, missed cell with classmates sorry! Rushed home & left for church. With it being the first time, I'm sure we can improve on the following week. Jiayou, God help us in it!

Saturday - Met up with Chui San & discussed more. Then was leadership training in church. Today was Auntie Sharon & I guess we weren't quite responsive today. Haha. But learnt quite a fair bit k! Youth Ablaze @ 4pm. None of us brought friends so all the 18-year-olds played games! Not too bad yeah, like an impromptu Zonal bonding. Didn't know some of them can be that "joker". Left in the evening to City hall, met up with Ryan, Ian & Peggy. Walked to Clarke Quay, & as usual all the crap stuffs happened. Haha.

Sunday - Camp comm meeting! Okay they left a seat for me just beside Pst Ruth. I was like, "Huh I sit there ah?" HAHA inside joke. Stressed leh :) THREE more weeks to youth camp, signup rate's at 200+ people. Praise the Lord, more pleaseeeeeeeeee ;D

Things to be done/will be doing in the next few months

1) JC1 camp (18th-20th Nov): It's coming real soon, next week! Looking forward :)

2) Planning for Youth camp (27th-29th Nov): Need God's strength to sustain the whole camp committee. Good turnout rate, ultimate fun & God's intercession amongst the youths.

3) Planning for Chingay 2010 (now till next year Feb): Thanks SyeMun for involving me in this! Though you left haha! Alright, so every Wednesday & Saturday will be training for the performers. Thank you my dear 19 friends who have agreed to participate, out of the 330 performers gathered. I'm sure it'll be a great experience for all of you, including myself. Yes, better time management as well. Didn't forget that I'm having 'A' levels next year.

5) Blood donation: Hahah with Jed! Will be somewhere in early Dec, before I leave Singapore. Okay, feeling nervous already.

I do have a few asking me why am I always involved in so many things, & on top of that I still got to leave time for studies. I guess it boils down to the quote of "living life with no regrets". And as you look back, you will feel a sense of satisfaction & it gives me the motivation of doing & giving more. Of course there's a limit to how much we can contribute, don't bother as long as it's within our capacity to do it. You need not agree with me, but I'm at this age whereby I should take ownership of my life, rather than just walking around aimlessly. So, till I blog again [:

Promos results - Summer Test (Mid-year) & Mid-Course (End-year)

H1 General Paper - S to C
H1 Physics - U to D
H2 Math - E to U
H2 Geography - D to B
H2 Economics - C to B

These are the raw scores as a comparison from Mid-year papers to Promos. It's a mixed feeling within me though there's improvement for each subject except for Math. Probably because I expected more. But I've been reminding myself, even for some of my classmates, that we ought to be thankful to God in ALL circumstances. Yeah, difficult to put that into action isn't it. But of course, I'm grateful to all my subject tutors all these while for being patient during consultations throughout these months. And .. night study everyday was awesome :)

General Paper: Summer Test was a flop as I didn't expect to get a sub-pass. Quite demoralising given my expectations of doing well in Language. But was told by tutor that it was the content that pulled me down. I still remembered what Mr Sabar said to me, "You have very good language, just that you lacked content." It was then I decided to do something about it (in July period) and there, time flies. Thanks for having so much faith in me & telling me that I can do it. Probably getting a C's disappointing when you know that it's just a few more marks to B. But then again, be thankful right?

Physics: I think I'd term this as the miraculous work of God. Why? It goes like this. I had Math paper on a Friday, & the following Monday & Tuesday were Physics & Geography paper respectively. So I was deciding whether to just focus on my H2 Geog & give up on Physics, or just finish revising Physics first before moving on to Geog. It was more of a decision-making. I spent Saturday & Sunday doing last-minute revision on Physics and plan to revise Geog on Monday after Phy paper. Guess what my tutor said a few days before Promos. "If you want to pass, you must at least re-do all the tutorials ONCE." I was dumbfounded since it wasn't possible to re-do all within such a short period of time. That's why I felt like focusing on Geog instead. Physics paper was hard, I swear. So I went out of the hall feeling so dejected, thinking that I've wasted 2 days on revision when I can do Geog instead. But God is good! But one thing I wanna say is that, it's definitely not my own credit that I passed. That, for sure. Anyway, Mr Teo you're one funny tutor! Though I've only consulted you once. Haha.

Mathematics: Aye, I'm so sorry to Mr Khoo. ): I've been consulting him on every Wed, & for sure we always ended up drifting away from Math to chatting about random topics. You're one friendly & FUNNY teacher, it's surprising how you can clicked so well with us and made me burst out laughing umpteen times. ;D Okay, but I know you're disappointeddddd. I think this time round the results struck me a lot so yeah, I'm gonna brush on my Math this coming holiday. Thanks for your words of enouragement either through msn, sms or facebook! And also saying that I've high EQ HAHA. Wait for my good news :D

Geography: Monday after Physics paper, rushed home to digest much of Geography, only managed to complete Lithosphere, part of Population & Urbanisation. Wasn't feeling confident but I thought I should just give it my best. Essays were crap, as I didn't have time to memorise the policies for transport problems. So just bombed the policies used in Singapore :) Even so, I expected an 'A' though there's only 3-4 people getting As in the cohort. But still wanna thank God for a 'B' grade & 8th in cohort ranking. Miss Nafisah! You came in July as a new NIE teacher & some of us were quite dubious. Haha. But you're fantastic! Really. Patient to the max, passionate (from the way you greet me each time you see me lol), bubbly and YOUNG. Haha. You're also one teacher whom I can talk a lot with, probably because of only a few years in age gap. Enjoyed weekly consultations with you! And once, you didn't sleep at all just to prepare for lectures. Sacrificial to full extent, you'll do great in this profession :)

Economics: CLIMAX. Haha. Okay, as some of my classmates would have known that I revise Econs every single day, rain or shine. It has been like this since last year? I guess it's Mr Chu who made me love this subject so much. So of course I'm not satisfied with just a B, I wonder when will my 'A' come ): So yeah, I guess I've disappointed another tutor. Miss Chong's words were harsh, "You MUST get an A, don't let me down!" Sigh, despite daily consultations right? Yes, every day. But anyway, you're yet another new NIE teacher! The one who keeps thinking that I LOVE Econs due to her interesting way of teaching. I'm probably the few who can tahan you :D Also one of the very few teachers whom I buy breakfast for, drinks/lunch, carried bag out of the school. Haha, sounds like slavery but better be "grateful" hor. Also, I admire your honesty with me on your personal life(or rather biography hahaha) and "gossips" about people! Don't worry man, your problems will all be solved if God enters into your life! :) Thankful for a B and 30th in cohort ranking.

Wow. Like an essay? Anyway, I really appreciate these precious tutors of mine a lot. If not for them, this year could be .. I don't know. Not as fun? Really hope that all of them would still teach me again in Year 2, I need them! Very, very used to their styles of teaching. And also, very used to talk to them in a like-a-friend tone. Geog & Econs are still my favourite subjects, the rest I'd still need a little bit of love. Leaders' retreat

Last Saturday, celebrated Senior Pastor's 60th birthday! After which left to meet Ryan & Ian for dinner, they ate not me lol. Chatted till midnight & had prata for supper! Had a really long talk. Sunday had camp com meeting, plus family day.

School started! Well Monday was good 'cause I went to the gym. Lol finally! Sweat it all outttt. Tuesday, the Pegasus went to Museum. Interesting! Anyway, we have been playing handball during the first lesson & it wasn't that bad, similar to Tchoukball lah :) Wednesday was handball + 2 hours of GP + Gym + Detention(haha long story) + games comm meeting at Lala's house in the evening. Today was handball + 3 hours of Math + BTT @ Ubi.

Personally, I liked this artpiece a lot. They used bread to form the sacred body of Christ. Nice!

Soar on wings like eagles.

This was saved as a draft which I wanted to post long ago. Due to some concerns, I kept delaying! But not to worry, 'cause school has been great. :)

Throughout this long period, I must say I've learnt a lot. And quite recently, my class has formed a cell group where we'll share the Word of God & fellowship together on every Friday. Hopefully, this can continue on! Thanks Peggy for the initiative! For my teacher's part, we'll just keep praying :)

God has been revealing Isaiah 40:31 to me through various channels during the exam period. It came neither early nor late, just at the right time. You see here, no words can describe this Great Encourager of mine. I guess I've said this a couple of times, but this year has been an amazing year so far. Probably it's the turning point that took place, which brought me to where I am today. As His disciples, we definitely still have a long way to go. Just allow Him to nourish us each day ;)

Last day of school's officially on 26th Nov, a month more to go. A lot more things to complete by the end of this year, will put down when I've the time. Taken up new commitments which would probably keep me busy till next year Feb. Excitement, always! :D

Yeah, went on the first day! At Indoor Stadium. With Jacelyn, Joyce, LingJia & Joshua. After school on Friday. Saw Jasmine & Sinfei from my college! Couldn't find Debbie 'cause she was busy ushering, just as she told me she can't find me too. Haha. Anyway, FOP was awesome! Wished I could make it on the 3 days though. Saturday - Youth Ablaze.

This week's YA was a little special, we didn't follow the normal routine. Felt like I'm back to church camp. Just like what one of my fellow brothers told me, "It was amazing." A fresh touch from God was indeed what the youths need. Including me, of course. We've probably been denying, too much. Thinking that we're so close to God, only to realise that He has always been trying to be close to us, but we've never given Him a chance to do so. We need to, open up. Yes, & dinner after that was great :D

Another week's starting! I look forward to school nowadays :) It's been so happening. Teachers are like my good friends, amazingly for all my subject tutors, we could talk about anything under the sun. Stallholders in the canteen are like my neighbours, we could chat about random stuffs. Classmates & friends in college, we could talk so loud like we own the whole school compound & tease one another. Badminton team mates, we go through thick & thin during the trainings together. :) This week especially, I've received an overflow of encouragements from people, thank you so much though it came at random timings. Still, I got to thank God for granting such pleasant favour with people around me. Tell me, how not to look forward? :D

Sight is a wonderful gift from God.

Last Saturday during worship prac, had this conversation with Pastor Ruth.

Sop: *trying to plug the wire into the d-box*
Ruth: You cut your hair ah?
Sop: Yeah. Why leh.
Ruth: You looked very young mah.
Sop: Huh! I looked very old meh, last time.
Ruth: No lah! Hahaha. Just very nice lor.

HAHA. I think the acutal moment's very funny! When you mention something related to age to females, it'd somehow TRIGGER them, in a way or another. But I'm not so extreme to say that 'I feel old' at the age of 18. I mean, a lot of people do say that. It goes something like, "I'm finally 18, OMG I FEEL SO OLD." The short sentence itself contains irony already. Haha.

After cell, went down Amk Hub to get tickets for Ice Age 3. But FULL HOUSE. So went over to Bishan. We got the fourth row from the front, 10.30pm. Haha, better than nothing. So while waiting for Joe & Smarts, we went for dinner at Pastamania. The fun part came while we were playing DONKEY, the pack of cards Joyce brought. Lol. Jace's laughter blasted the whole place, & seemed like luck were "on our side". 'Cause it was either Joyce or Joshua losing. Haha, not bad. Simple game but yet could kill some time. They finallyyyy reached! Movie ended after midnight, went for supper at KPT. Rating for the movie: 5/5. Humourous plot (:

Monday was Youth Day holiday! Heh. Jasmine asked to go out, & L asked to study. But was already meeting my friend to study so yeah. Sorry! Haha, okay so official curriculum started & it was still bearable! Just that I'm used to ordering coffee in school, but had to control ): So on Tuesday morning I went over to the stall, the auntie said, "How many cups(coffee)?". But I told auntie I want hot tea instead, substitute for it I guess. Lol! 30 days more! Had class photo shoot today. & I think we were damn funny. Hahah, can't wait to see the photos. :)

Well, school's been fine. & I believe will get better, enjoy! :D

Come what may, learn to accept.

So my June break was well-spent, I guess. :) Exams have started on Monday, & ended today! Thank God for bringing me through this exam period :D Thankyou Daryl, Don, YongLiang, Melvin, Jeremy, Kim & Coach for sending me sms-es of encouragement, & of course people who spurred me on verbally. I've experienced the greatness of God once again :)

Nonetheless, the 40-day prayer thing has started on 1st July, Wednesday. Besides praying everyday till 9 August, I'd be fasting on coffee, lunch/dinner, Internet surfing & more that might come along the way. While all these may seem impossible(especially coffee!), I'm just gonna have faith in the Lord.

Now that it's back to school curriculum, the commitments are waving hello to me. Somehow or rather, I do feel a tinge of stress. But yeah, everything goes back to time management, which I only realise its importance at the start of this year. Ah, proposals.

Forgot to share a piece of good news, I've gotten tickets to NDP 2009 this year! Haha, through balloting of course. In the past, when balloting's not yet introduced, you'll have to queue up outside the specified army camps at various parts of Singapore. It's quite a torture actually, I remembered queueing up in the evening, & finally got to go inside after midnight. Reason being, the queue was too long. Then, you'll be brought either to the hall or the spacious ground in level 1 to sleep. Till the next morning, you get your tickets. That's why I get to go to NDP every year, until the balloting "came". Lol. Well, during those times if you get to "sleep" at the camp area, it's definitely a confirmation that you'll get the NDP tickets. So .. after so many years, I get to go again! Can't wait :D
I'm just .. disappointed. You're one of the many people that mean a lot to me, so in any case, I'll miss you. Thank God for you & take care.

This week's pretty much of a rushing week. LAST WEEK OF JUNE BREAK SOMEMORE. Monday, Wednesday & today were spent studying with Joyce & Ling Jia! Well .. was okay. Haha. Must really apologise to LingJia, 'cause Joyce & I were always the ones oversleeping! XD Then Tuesday met up with George for dinner at Jalan Kayu. NICE ONE, haha. Full man. Today met him again for dinner at Compass Point, crapped a lot. Shared our views on certain issues. Hmm. Yeah. :)

Today, decided to book one of the rooms in church to study. Yeah .. 10am to 6pm. With L.jia & Joyce.

Okay, really lazy to blog. Haha. Tomorrow's Friday, I'm staying at home for the day first. Mum's been grumbling about me going out for the whole of June Break. Yeah, but there's Sister's chalet at night. Haha. Yup, really enjoying myself eh. Mum wants me to stayover but I've to be out early in the morning on Saturday (probably 7am I think?). Yeah. Anyway, I hope I'm not infected with the H1N1 virus. Not being paranoid, but I've got cough, sore throat & runny nose since Monday. Now's getting better, just cough. I hope not, really. There's more than 200 cases in Singapore already. Sigh, at this point in time we've got to rely on God & prayers.

Been praying for discipline to do QT daily, & God has granted me in it. Everyday without fail, I would see phrases like, "Fear of the Lord .. " & "take refuge in Him ..". Indeed, the "fear" increases each time I read about what would happen if you do not obey the Lord, especially on the seven commandmants. It scares me at times, & I kept reminding myself each day to do the right things, so not to be "punished". & with the outbreak of Influenza A, it makes me ponder on whether God's really "punishing" us, if you get what I mean. So what we can do now is to pray!

to Smarties: Haha, yes! Even though it's so difficult to control them, you find yourself enjoying the "noise" with them too. Lol. & I suggest you put a tagboard in your blog. Okay, FERRARI FOR FREEEEEEEEEEE! :)

From Obedience to Faithfulness.

Back to update on my 2nd week of June break!

Monday.
English teaching at Marsiling Primary School! Had to reach the school by 7.45am, but I think after the first day, some of us got used to waking up early. I hope, haha. Basically for Ruijing & I, we had to teach two Primary 5 classes, depending on you're given a P4/P5/P6 class. :D & I love my 2 classes of students! So hyperactive, shy at first, but we broke the ice eventually, well hopefully all of you have learnt something from us. Haha. Each lesson's about 1 & a half hour, but time flies! Didn't even have time to finish some of the activities. Now I realised how my college teachers struggled to fully utilise that 1 hour. Afternoon, met up with Jed & studied somewhere near church. Till night time, when he complained that he's hungry. Lol. He's supposed to pass me the new zealand shirt, but couldn't make it to church 'cause of injury. Pray for him!

Tuesday.
Got to Marsiling Primary in the morning again. Today's another set of lesson materials, which I assumed to be much more interesting than the first day's lesson, & indeed the students enjoyed the 'drawing' a lot. Haha. Got back home in the afternoon, went for my 10 rounds at the stadium, met up with Yanlin, Ruijing & Anna for study. & sorry, I'm always less sober if I'm really tired, as witnessed by them. Lol! But don't think it'd happen again :D

Wedneday.
Supposed to meet up with George for movie, but I guess we're both occupied with our personal commitments. Haha! But anyway, we had dinner at Chomp Chomp, & ordered the usual dishes. Seemed to me that the dinner lasted for quite a few hours. & we took the wrong bus, which brought us a loop back to Chomp Chomp again. LOL. Eventually it went back to Serangoon interchange, fortunately didn't miss our last bus. ;D

Thursday.
Met up with Tetra gang, 10am at Compass point! Before we head off to Sentosa. Had breakfast at Harbourfront's Mac. Wanted to bring them to Tanjong Beach, couldn't find our way there, so ended up at the always-crowded Siloso Beach. Well it was fun! Volleyball, frisbee, suntanning, drinking, snacking, chit-chatting! :) I'm glad I'm awfully sunburnt, there's still the red marks even after a few days. Haha! Thanks to the suntan oil :D & of course, I'm always proud to tell my other friends that I'm not just still in contact with my primary school mates, but also very close with them. My longest friendship so far, treasure it a lot! Sorry I had to leave in the evening for some reason, thanks for understanding! Thanks also cell members who came to help out in the night.

Overslept & didn't make it to Marsiling Primary ): Bought lollipops for the students & 'cause of my absence, they didn't get it. Sorry man D: Met LingJia in the afternoon to get her camera at the PC Show. We were in the same train to Dhoby! Haha, so orbit. Walking from City Hall Mrt to Suntec City has always been dreading for me, not to mention squeezing through the crowds. After much consideration & hesitation, she bought the $700 worth camera, plus the free gifts etc. Lol. After which, we headed to Lavender. Thanks Ben & Xiying for coming down too.

Saturday.
Lunch with George at purple market before worship prac. Started late, but we were done with all the songs before Youth Ablaze started. So thank God! Today's sermon, I'd say, has served as a personal reflection for me from the time I stepped into LSBC 3 years ago. And so I shared with the cell that I'm reminded of God's faithfulness when I backslided & came back to God once again, while others said initially they didn't want to be in that school but eventually found great friends & teachers there. It's so easy to drift away from God & yet so difficult to go back to Him once again. Some people take days, weeks, months & even years. I think this is when we exercise self-discipline & obedience. Whenever I'm placed into a situation not of my own desire, Jeremiah 29:11 always serves as a reminder for me. There's a lot of things I wanna thank God in/for. But to cut the long story short, thank You for not forsaking me all these while :)

Sunday.
Went home not-so-late last night, but managed to wake up to attend service! Supposedly meeting cell for breakfast at melting pot. Haha, but I guess we've an issue with meeting at 10.30am :D But got to church in time for coffee, & a short chat with Jace & Doreen, while Joshua & Daryl disappeared in the midst of the crowd. Lol. Awesome worship today! Rev Michael Ross Watson spoke to us today. His testimony's just so amazing, which again proves that "The Lord will provide in times of need .. " :D My jaw literally dropped when he said a stranger paid for his surgery, which costs $50,000. Still, Praise the Lord! He's got his way of engaging us, & really funny jokes (: Lunch with Jace, Josh & Yeomei at Compass point. Stayed till late afternoon, before heading home & out with family again. :D Tanglin Halt for dinner.

Next week's gonna be another exciting week. Haha, till then! :D

I had a great 1st week of June Break! Heh, partly because of the awesome Pre-U Seminar. Lazy to elaborate. Pictures will do the talking, more in Facebook :)

Monday: 1st day of Pre-U Sem, Campus Chase at Prince George's Park Residences!

Hah, 500 participants! Guang Jin & I gave announcements to them using a loud hailer. SCARY but indeed another breakthrough for me. Thank God! Worst thing would of course be teachers were literally watching us giving the instructions & a cameraman filming us -.-

Thursday: 4th day of Pre-U Seminar. Today's workload was not as much. In charge of the Zone at the Merlion. Also my last day of involvement in Pre-U Sem. ):

Friday: Reached Yishun at 7.45am & met up with my OCIP members. Got to Yishun Student Care Centre & started our work there! The kids there were really amazing :) The activities we planned for their camp went out so well, & all of us could really clicked well with the kids. Thanks to Nurul & Yanto for taking the lead to sing the songs! Though we were with them for only till 4pm, I've grown so emotionally attached to the children there. Some of them will cling on to my legs or hold my hand wherever they go. K, T, Z, M, JH ... Awww, missing them already. Took lots of photos, but we were asked not to publish them publicly for privacy purposes & also to protect the interest of the children. I'll develop them when I've the time (: Yes, the purpose of us facilitating & working with the kids @ YSCC is to better equip us with the skills we need to handle the children when we go over to Vietnam. Patience ;D

Evening got to Tampines to meet Janice & Eileen for dinner. Cherlyn, please make time for us the next time lol. Had Carls' Junior! & Frolicks for frozen yoghurt after that. As usual, tons of laughter & crap with them. & CHEER UP, Eileen Tan! :) Love you girls :D

So .. Pre-U Sem has officially ended. Sad & happy. No doubt that it'll look good on my resume in future, I really enjoyed the process of all the preparation of this national event. Working hand in hand with the teachers, & with the SPFs whom I don't really know initially, but now can even hit one another with bare hands. Friendship, camaraderie, leadership, adaptability .. & the list goes on. I've acquired countless values, this year's definitely one that I won't forget. Fond memories :)

Saturday: Always feels great to attend Youth Ablaze! Today's sermon was so relevant: How to enjoy school holidays! I'm the only one in cell who's currently enjoying it, haha. Well, I guess doing something fulfiling & that you're passionate about will make you happy & that's how you enjoy life, not only during the holidays. For me, it's quite evident that volunteerism makes up part of my life. I'm not thinking that far yet, but for now, I'm trying my best to do what I can. My next aim is to go for blood donation, preferably during this June break. Gonna pray for a strong body so that I won't faint or whatsoever after the donation. Haha. Right, dinner with cell members at KFC! Gosh, lol. But we discussed about lots of stuffs, mainly on our cell goals, yeah got to get started on it soon. It's been half a year already man.

Looking forward to my 2nd week of June Break, meeting up with George for movie & tetra gang for Sentosa! The leftover 3 days I'll be at Marsiling Primary to interact with kids again! :D But I welcome dinners. Haha. Okay, turning in soon. Hopefully will be able to wake up for service later! WOAH. I haven't blog for almost a month! Haha, not bad 'cause at least I know I'm not tempted to use it. Okay, the month of May has been really fun, fulfilling, packed, crazy, excited & many many adjectives to describe this wonderful month! :) But past few weeks have been stressful in the sense that many stuffs are clashing with one another, like some days my OCIP meeting, tchoukball training, badminton training, clashing with pre-u sem. Had a hard time priortising on which one to attend. Nonetheless, random meetups, trainings, study sessions, consultations, dinner with George & Smarts after school, Girls' tchoukball 'A' div (we got bronze!) & church were GREAT(:

Went to Sentosa for MSC & leadership skills training for Pre-U Seminar, though it was a public holiday, I had fun & learnt lots of stuffs there!

Got down to NUS PGPR someday after school with all the SPFs for dry run for the activites.

Pre-U Sem's taking up quite a lot of time, but of course I'm honoured to be involved in it :D

29th May was the last day of school! Went back home to load off some stuffs & back to school again for COP@Marsiling Primary briefing at 3pm. Woohoo, gonna be a small 'teacher' at Marsiling Primary for 3 days during the June break! Can't wait to see the kids :D Then, OCIP meeting at 4.10pm, lasted for an hour or so. My last day of school in Term 2 ended quite well, haha. Home for dinner, & overnight study with LingJia till Saturday morning. Well, but someone fell asleep from 1am to 6am. HAHA. Man, it was productive! Completed all my holiday assignments & done with revision for Economics. Technically, I didn't sleep for a day! From Friday morning 6am to Saturday morning 11am. Thank God for sustaining me throughout the 29 hours (: Of course, thank God again that I was able to wake up 2 hours later to attend Youth Ablaze in church. Amazingly, I was quite awake during sermon. Met up with family for dinner after that, didn't spend much time with them ):

31st May! Awesome Sunday. It's Global day of Prayer & YEOMEI's birthday! :D Morning woke up feeling sleepy, attended 2nd service. Lunch at purple market, & ANDREW JOINED US :D He's still as crappy lah. See you soon manxzxz. Back to church at 2pm, & off we went for Global day of Prayer at Singapore Expo! :D 3pm was the youth's session, our church brought about 250 people. Of course, the place was filled with youths from other churches. I find the duration too short, only 2 hours & we had to go. Back to church again, Subway for dinner @ United Square with cell! Chilled out at Udders for ice-cream till about 11pm, got home at midnight. It's Monday & I've to turn in soon! Pre-U Seminar in a few hours' time.

Current level of commitment:

Pre-U Seminar: 1st to 5th June! My role as a facilitator came not by chance. After six months of hard work put in by the staff & students, we will definitely rise up to the occasion & do Innova proud! We will show the 500 participants from all Junior Colleges/Poly/IB Schools what we're capable of. Pray for these 5 days to be smooth sailing! WE CAN DO IT (:

Overseas Community Involvement Programme (OCIP) trip: Country has been changed to Vietnam, not Nepal. Whatever the destination is, I hope to work well with the kids in Vietnam when I go there at the end of this year. Our preparation starts now, with planning activities & carrying them out for the Brain Booster Camp on 5th June @ Yishun Student Care Centre. Again, I will be a facilitator on that day. Haha. Definitely looking forward to it.

Youth Camp: So far so good. The food caterer that I've selected has been really cooperative with me. Thank God! Of course, it's been fun working with the camp committee, & having such a jovial Pastor as the camp commandant! Haha. Yeah, pray for more breakthroughs & dates not clashing with my OCIP trip. :)

COP @ Marsiling Primary: 8th, 9th & 12th of June! Teaching the kids would be fun :D

Pacer Rep: Of course it has been fun being the pacer rep of my class! Liasion with the in charge of Singapore Children's Society was really a breakthrough for me, thank God for the boldness. Our CIP activity will be on the 26th July, Sunday. Yeah, coming soon. Doing up of proposal can be quite a headache though, am still working on it. Lol :D

Church: Apart from serving in sound ministry on certain weekends, my role in cell's still quite manageable. Yup, really thank the Lord & I look forward to serving Him more. :) I'm glad to hear from one of the Christians in my class that she always look forward to going to church every week, after literally 5 days of 'torture' in school. I've the same sentiments as her, in a way it really encouraged me. Thank you :)

Like what I've told Jace, because of these commitments, I've learnt to cherish the time I have even more. For example, seize time to revise through my notes whenever time allows. Summer Test's in a month's time. After so many times of drilling from teachers, I did up a weekly schedule in my notebook, indicating what I MUST do each & everyday. Gonna have faith in the Lord that I'll adhere to it, so to finish my revision on time. Got to thank someone for your "Will keep you in prayers." sms, & as your student I won't want to disappoint you. [:

Something random: A change of name from 'swine flu' to Influenza A (H1N1) virus. Yeah, keep reading the news/paper, about personal hygiene as well. US President Barack Obama almost got hit by Influenza A, thank God it didn't happen. Then I read about being a journalist could be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, with rising rates of media workers getting kidnapped, killed, arrested & some even serving sentence in jail. They were just doing their job. It led me to wonder what happened to the Freedom of 'Speech' that the society, or rather the world, always advocate. I guess it's not a matter of fairness anymore, since 130 journalists have been killed over the past 30 years, some not even knowing the reason why. So, where has justice gone to?

Last week's OCIP meeting was great. Hmm, Jeslyn, Amanda, Eliz & Lorayne got in too! :) Okay, the school's proposing to go to Nepal. Ah so excited. Anyway, we'll kick off with a team bonding at Yishun Student Care on 5th June, which obviously falls on the last day of Pre-U Sem. Yeah, but I'm quite sure I'm not needed on the last day, unless Mr Teo has any tasks for me. Yup, so back to the student care centre, we've to start planning the activities for the kids on the 2nd day of their Brain Booster Camp. Hahah, more to be done.

Met LingJia at 11am in church, she's battling with Project Work, so went to see if I could be of any help. Her project idea's quite interesting, hopefully she will be able to do well. So much for "deleting" the words to meet the word limit :) Even though we're of the same age, she's one the few whom I really look up to, be it her character or attitude. From the day she told me how she got into Sajc, I knew she's someone who places God first. It's not easy, I must say. There, a live example for me to follow & learn.

Even though I was out for the past few days, thank God for the discipline in completing the 7-8 assignments way before the deadline. No doubt that it meant lesser time to sleep, but I'm fine with it since I think that sleeping's quite a waste of time.

Tried to get myself to sleep on Sunday night, & before I realise, it's time for school. A torture for me when lessons ended at 2.40pm, & I had Econs essay test at 6pm. The thing is I can't fall asleep any elsewhere except on my bed. So yeah, did a bit of revision & survived through the test which ended at 7pm. Dinner with Ryan, Ian, Kimberlyn & LiuJen at Pizza Hut. Pretty random, I know. Haha. By the time I got home, crashed at 11pm.

Dental appointment later, so no school for me! :D Hah. Pre-U Sem meeting tomorrow, & OCIP meeting on Friday. A' div Tchoukball competition on Friday too, all the best Innova! Training, training, training.

Get well soon Pam! :D & JieKai, trying to get into sick bay today. Haha, yeah holidays will come soon. :) Got back GP essay today, finally after two weeks. By God's grace, I passed. Didn't have time to brush up on my content at that time since was caught up with Evoke, so I threw in all my Geography case studies & tried to write an argumentative essay, & also on the same day I had Geog test. Tutor gave me a grade that I think I do not deserve, even though he said I misinterpreted the question. Thank God indeed!

Back again, trying to blog on a weekly basis. Hah. Saturday was good right from the start. Lunch with George, Worship prac, Youth Ablaze, Cell discussion & Subway for dinner with cell! Usually I'm happier when I'm on duty, lol. Now got to rest 3 weeks before my next duty arrives. Yup, felt good catching up on one another's lives, be it in JC, Poly or Ite. Persevere on! :D

Oh, OCIP interview on last Tuesday was good. Got interviewd by Hongyu, Jon & Jingyi. Apparently, they were the ones who went last year. The whole interview was quite relaxing for me. I thought I'd be the last few 'cause I rushed down right after my 4.10pm lesson, ended up I was the first! Haha. A few days later, Hongyu privately told me that I got in. Lol! Anyway, today I received Miss Lin's sms regarding meetings & stuffs already. Got to pray really hard that it won't clash with the youth camp(27th to 29th Nov), though Miss Lin told me that it'd most likely be within that period of time. Kind of expected, one week at overseas, sure will clash one. Have faith!

Then I browsed through the college calendar, the Geography trip to China will most likely be on 28th Nov to 5th Dec. Yes, another trip clashing with youth camp -.- But unless everything's finalised, I'm all for it. Miracles, please.

COP proposal's been stressing me out recently, but I guess since I'm the pacer rep, I've to do my job. Fortunately, Singapore Children's Society has given me a reply. Ah. Well, last week was no-test week. This week, I've got Physics, Math & Geog. & next week, Econs & GP. Woohoo, seems like almost every week there'll at least be a test. Two more months to Summer Test.

School ended early on Friday. Headed down to Serangoon Gardens for lunch with Ryan & Ian. Nice! Been a long while since I had one of my favourite dishes. Went to nearby Macs to complete our tutorials, so that weekends would be less taxing. Hah. Not too bad, to see the two guys arguing over History, fortunately I took Geography. :D Left in the evening as Ian has to go for cell group, home for dinner. Continued with tutorials again.

Saturday was alright. Had sound duty in L2 for the EDC ceremony for the Boys' & Girls' Brigade. Good exposure for me since it was my first time operating a digital sound board, as compared to the one in L4, it's quite convenient lah. Thank God everything went on quite smoothly, I suppose? :) Left down to mph to help out with the food. Really got to thank Daryl, Jace & Josh! Nonetheless, it was fun serving the food together. Today, with family. Anyway, heard from Joyce that Andrew did ushering for service today! Yeah, hopefully he'll attend Youth Ablaze soon, best would be from next Saturday onwards. Haha, missed his disturbing gestures. Well, pray hard! I've got many prayers answered this week & last week. PTL(: But, I need to also remind myself that it's not the number of prayers answered that will determine my faith in God, but rather through the Word of God that I've come to certain realisaton, witnessing His great works on earth and His unfailing love that has boosted my faith in Him.

After reading Smarties's post, I can't help but to agree. Probably only the first & second paragraphs, he wrote in Mandarin & it sounded really sentimental. Felt the same way too. When I was young, I can't wait to grow up & get all the freedom I could have. Now that I'm at this stage in life, I wish I could go back to my childhood times. Isn't life just full of ironies?

Decoration day 1 on Wednesday. Jed came down to help too, well I realised he's quite funny. Haha. Did till 10pm plus, thanks Doreen for the Macdonalds' dinner! Delivery came really fast on that day :D Anyway, Clarissa & co. were busying cutting stars while we were doing the colouring. Pictures below:

Decoration day 2 on Thursday. Also the day that I had GP & Geog tests, didn't have time to revise much since I got home late the day before. Prayed really hard for full concentration during the tests. Anyway, I felt quite distracted in school today. I'm physically in school, but my mind's in church all the while. School finally ended at 3.40pm & I took cab down. Lol! Quite exaggerating lah I know. So managed to finish the decoration after 10.30pm. The final one was really entertaining.

Actual day: Good Friday, Evoke Your Dreams!

Reached church at 10am, feeling so sleepy. Went on with the rehearsals of the bands, & learnt a bit of the digital sound board from Uncle Leslie, which I'm still awed by it. Haha, time flies & it was evening already! People started coming in, & thanks Esther & Vanessa for coming! Though I weren't with you guys at all. Lol left them alone at the auditorium. Didn't get to meet them even after the event, we only communicated through sms-es. Haha! That's very sad but at least they enjoyed the performance. Funky3 won in the end, clinching away $1000 cash. Followed by Groo-V from VJC, & Pre-Gig Jitters! Didn't get to watch the second half of the performance, was down at the mph preparing for the post party. The turnout wasn't too bad! Just that the drinks & chips had to be given out for free at 11pm, lol! Initially we were selling at $2 for drinks & $1 for chips. Recession man, no choice. Overall, was fun! So the event has offically ended, it'd probably took them 4 months to organise & get everything done, all the hard work will pay off! Supposedly meeting Joshua for lunch first, but eventually I was too tired to go for lunch. Haha sorry man. Met Smarties & went to 247 for camp committee meeting. Glad that Pastor Ruth, Beatrice, Larissa, He Li, Ernie & Melvin are in it too. They're the experienced adults who can guide me along the way. Even the dates of the youth camp have been set, in Nov. Haha, more publicity in June. Yeah, Smarts & I are like the youngest over there, but at least he had some experience from last year's camp. The whole discussion was a light one, just that I need to speak up more confidently when expressing my views. Pray that God will assist me in this area! Am quite excited for the year-end camp. :) Ended at 3pm, got back to church for sound duty. Only 2 worship songs. Groo-V & Pre-Gig Jitters came back to perform one final time! For those who missed Evoke lah. Hahah, it's never bored watching them dance & sing.

Left to meet family after that, sister's back from her holiday. Fetched her & got to Bedok for dinner + supper. Finally, I get to spend time with them after so many days, reaching home late & parents were already asleep.

Dad's birthday! Hope you like the watch. :D Intended to head down to Turf City for celebration but parents had to go for another dinner which they agreed on few weeks ago. -.- Stayed at home to complete the tutorials instead, at the same time tuning in back to studies. Kind of lost the momentum last week. Hah.

Start of a new week! Got back Geography, & of course it's God's grace that I passed. Really. :) The college's pace is quite fast for now, for Econs we're learning on Market Structure any time soon, while we only get to learn it last year towards the end like September. I've a feeling that we'll have to touch on macro-economics this year. ): Guess I'll have to live with it.

Last Saturday, Youth Ablaze was great. Overwhelmed by God's presence & the whole congregation prayed 1 hour for the upcoming event, Evoke Your Dreams which will be on Good Friday. It's gonna turn out awesome, & the tickets are high in demand that 250 people are on the waiting list just to get them. So now, I'm dying to sell all the tickets I've with me to my friends, or else it'd have to be sold to the people on the waiting list. Yup anyway, service ended late so we didn't have cell discussion. Met up with Kaiwei & George for dinner. :)

It's Monday, & school ended quite fine. Got down to 247 for meeting with WanHui & co. for the preparation for Evoke, it turned out pretty engaging & fun. Hah, & I realised I kind of like anything related to event management. Lots of things to rush out, & decorations to be done. So may have to skip sports evening in college on Wednesday, keeping my fingers crossed about it. Wednesday & Thursday are going to be chiong deco days in church, of course bearing in mind that I still have school to attend. I'm only left with tomorrow to study for Geog, GP & Math, & COP proposal has to be handed in on Thursday. As much as I want to put aside time for revision, I won't be able to finish the syllabus covered. So yes, leave it to God ;D He will sustain us through this week, especially for WanHui & Doreen, probably sleeping lesser each day. Ultimately, the aim is to make it an enjoyable event for everyone.

Just got home, & I'm feeling really lethargic now. Hopefully, school will be less taxing for me later on.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SAMUEL & BOWIE! :D

When the clock struck 12 at midnight, a call came. It was bad news. On the phone, she kept crying & wanted to commit sucide. It was already early in the morning when everything's settled at her house. At least all's fine now! Napped awhile, left at 7am for sports heats in school. Took quite some time before I can go home & got to church for worship practice. Amazingly, I was quite refreshed after that. One of the points in today's sermon was exactly what I did for my QT that week, which is to give in to God's timing. I believe it wasn't a coincidence, I just need a little more patience & not rush Him. After cell discussion, dinner with Jace, Wanhui, Joyce, Joshua & Smarties at Blk 246. Managed to catch up a bit on one another's lives. WH then left to work OT at church office while we went to Kovan, bought $12 worth of sushi! Haha, but it was at half price. I was extremely exhausted by then, finally 'allowed' to go home after an hour plus later. Lol.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MELVIN! :D

Reached Blk 242 at 8am today, started preparing the games & all for the Ministerial Visit. Ling Jia came too! The GB girls did the setting up of games stalls & balloon decoration. The whole process was great, with Auntie Sophia guiding me here & there. It's more like a inter-religious event, our church's involved of the games & food section. I was instructed to sell the game coupons! I see kids who run towards me looking at excited & can't wait to get the game coupons from me. The price's reasonable, 5 games for $1. That's why more than 600 game coupons were sold within 2 hours. Thankfully, I know a bit of dialect so I could communicate with some of the elderly who came to me with their enquiries.

Highlight is that Minister Khaw Boon Wan came not long after! Didn't see him in person as he was surrounded by police officers & probably other MPs. I had a great time at the 'carnival', not to mention again getting to know more people in church. (: Walked back to church with Joshua, while waiting for them to sell the tickets for Evoke after 2nd service. Tickets selling fast, I guess? :D Yeah, headed home after that feeling exhausted once again.

Though I still have a few Geog essays & tutorials to complete & two tests in this coming week, I'm not at the least worried 'cause I know God is in control. (: Yes, I'm still excited for it!

Just to sum up last Saturday in church: Evoke Your Dreams audition in the morning, a few bands withdrew from the competition. Quite a pity. Thanks WanHui for the lunch! Afterwhich was sound duty with Joshua & Kenneth. (: Sermon's basically on knowing the scriptures well & meditating on the Word, which reminded me that I have yet to hand in the S.P.A.C.E thing. -.- Anyway, Honouring dinner after that was good! Pasta, roast beef, crayfish, mussels & etc. Hahah thank God, really. Times flies, it's been 1 year or so since I've served in sound ministry. I'd probably lesser time to learn the ropes as compared to Josh they all. Some of them are learning the digital sound board already! Haha. I think I'd prefer to stay in L4 & use the "conventional" one, lol. This year's going to be another awesome year ahead for me too. (:

Sunday, brought dog for grooming, looked quite bald after that. Usually, he gets "emotional" for 1-2 days before getting back to the hyped-up Bearbear again. Haha, cuter now. Got down to Suntec with family. Food Fair was shockingly quiet, even being the last day of exhibition. I felt odd not having to squeeze through people this time round. Had dinner at 9pm, fish head steamboat at Ang Mo Kio area.

School has started! & J1s got their Question Paper for Project Work on Monday. Can either do on Emergency or Conservation. This year's question seemed easy, especically after I've read the task requirements for Emergency. Conservation might need a lot of research. Anyway, it's the start of doing PI, EoM, I&R, GPP & whatnot for them. All the best to the J1s who are doing PW! Perservere on. Proposal for Community Outreach Project due on 9th April, workload seems to be increasing for me but I'm just gonna hang on.

I'm happy today, thank God for giving me this opportunity to be in it.

4e3'07 BBQ on Monday! Reached Donavan's house in the afternoon, while waiting for SockYee, Haozhi & Haiqel to come. Carried the food & took the cab down to Pasir Ris Park, something unexpected happened, but still thanks Donavan for "saving" me! Food was awesome, that's always the case when you've HaoZhi bbq-ing the food. (: Hah, thanks SockYee for feeding us too. Lol! The few of us left at midnight after clean up, fortunately there's still bus for Yang Ling & I. Those live in Punggol, go away. Haha! Their last bus's at 1am, no worries at all. Most of you guys didn't change much afterall. Well, I enjoyed the bbq! :D

Got home from bbq, slept at 4am. Woke up at noon, met Clarissa & Joshua for lunch before heading to church for EvokeYourDreams audition. Reached there early & we played around with the drums. Haha, & both of them kept bickering with each other man. Laughs. Okay, got down to serious business when various bands came. I was put in Room 303, so didn't get to see the bands perform. ): Audtion was held in L4 auditorium instead. But heard from Clar & Josh that Pre-Gig Jitters's not bad! Clar & I got to communicate over the walkie-talkies, hahah we were speaking too fast. Ended at night.

Thursday, reached school at 9am. Bus sent us to NUS campus! Fascinated by the things over at there, like some bizzare sale going on. Then, we took another bus to Prince George's Park Residence. Miss Sim brought us around, showed us the various zones that the activities will be carried out during the Pre-U Seminar. I foresee some injury in the participants during the games already, haha! Anyway, PGPR's gorgeous. Feels like staying in a Condominium, good life man those undergraduates in NUS. But of course, it might be pricey staying in there too. 3 others SPFs & I will be in charge of Zone 1, where 600 participants will gather. Crowd control again, which brought me back to the scene when I was at the Milo Youth Tryathlon. Hope everything goes on smoothly on that day, especially no rain please. Or else, the wet weather programme will be so ... hahaha. Self-explanatory yeah. Lunch with the SPFs at the nearby canteen. Took bus 151 back to Hougang, Mr Chow happened to board the same bus too! Lol, I thought all the teachers would have left already.

Had quite a long conversation with him, he was asking why didn't I choose to take H2 Chinese instead ... & etc. For the fact that I really love Chinese. But then again, it's all about Chinese Literature & History, which is probably less lively as compared to the current context. His reply to me was, "It's all in the language." All the "I could have .." & "I should have .." came into my mind. A lesson learnt is to make wiser choices next time.

But I'm glad that Minister Mentor Lee mentioned the importance of speaking Mandarin at home, be it English or Chinese-speaking families, even though English is the universal language. The trend is that Mandarin used to be the spoken language in most households, it's only in recent years that English has become the spoken language instead. But I disagree with his statement that speaking dialect will deteriorate one's standard of Mother Tongue; it should be preserved, not slowly diminishing. He also compared the statistics if one speaks dialect & the latter one speaking in Mandarin. He said, "With Mandarin, you can communicate with 1,300 billions of people in China or Chinese provinces." One guy actually commented that he probably wouldn't live that long to communicate with 1,300 billions of people. He was also unsatisfied with the fact the dialect should be "demolished". Haha, interesting.

Whenever I see peers sulking when it's time to go for Mother Tongue lesson, they really made me wonder why. I guess when things are within our reach, we tend not to treasure them. Take for example, the opportunity to learn reading & writing in Mandarin. Kids in other countries don't even get to learn their Mother Tongue. You see the difference, I've to agree when people critisise us, the youths in S'pore. Because it's so true. Now that Chinese's completely out of my life, sad to say, the only way to keep this passion going is through newspapers & novels. Sigh, it feels weird not having a teacher correcting your mistakes though. I wouldn't want the day to come, where I've no any idea how to write my chinese name. So much for reminiscing the good old times during Chinese lessons since I was Primary 1. Hmm.

Saturday, all of us reached Dover & Mr Chan had to make 3 trips to drive all of our 18 players there. Haha. So it was at United World College (UWCSEA)! Pretty captivated by their school culture, American-style. They've a swimming pool there, you could see students or kids there training even early in the morning on a Saturday. The LOUD music played was cool, like a carnival atmosphere. We played against Singapore American School, UWCSEA & St Anthony's, 6 singles & 3 doubles for each school. Overall, won & lost a few sets, but well done for the guys & girls! Didn't play against St Anthony's, 'cause I had to leave. Sorry to the girls, I know you all did pull through for the last 6 singles & 3 doubles yeah? Great stamina needed, haha. Took bus 74 back, it was a long haul travel of 1 hour plus. Bathed & got to church.

George got his "botak" haircut! I told him he looked better this way, which many give him the same comment too. Haha. Today's sermon talked about intimacy with God through a seeking heart. To have an intimate relationship with God, it all boils down to abiding in His love, serving Him & praying. All these served as a wake up call for me that I've not done beyond what is expected of me in some of the areas. Then I'm reminded again, of His faithfulness & love through my walk with God, for these 2-3 years. I must say it's a bittersweet feeling, but God never abandon us, unless we choose to abandon Him. It's not about the prayers on your "long list" being answered, which means we look at it quantatively; it's about the quality time we spent with God & ultimately, we feel closer & closer to Him.

Afterwhich, I got to town at 8pm & met up with Ryan, Yvonne, Ruijing, YanLin, LiuJen & Kimberly. Finally settled down at Breeks Cafe. Had a great time laughing, especially at Ryan. Haha, joking only lahhh :D Went down to starbucks for coffee, where Ryan got his "camera" Caramel! Lol, that's what happened when you pronounced it wrongly. Walked down to Borders, where Kim & LiuJen started their gossip talk about celebrities. Was getting late for the girls, so headed home after that. I had a great Saturday. (: Kim's off to HongKong, how cool.

I wonder when can Ian drive to school, since he has gotten his liscense the week before.

Almost finishing the holiday assignments, hopefully can embark on my revision soon. Now, every second counts.

Got back Economics Formative Assessment. Not satisfied, could have done better, was aiming for full marks. Tried to retrieve back the 2 marks from Mdm Chng. But all she told me was, "I want you to feel the pinch so you won't make the same mistakes again." I felt so wow-ed. Thanks so much, I'll learn from it.

Thursday, reached school at 7am. Pre-U Seminar briefing for the SPFs, I guess our schedule's gonna get really hectic starting from next week onwards to June, especially for the SLOs. We shall make it happening & memorable for all the jc/poly partcipants! (: First lesson was GP. Debate started! The subject head of GP came in too. Yanto was absent, so I had to take his place. So much for overcoming the fear in me, once again. Having an experienced debater, Ryan, is an advantage! Haha. I'm sure anyone who was in the classroom did have lots of fun "shooting" at one another. & my team (opposition) won! :D

Tomorrow got to reach Dover by 7.45am, badminton match against the Ang Mohs. Church in the afternoon. & finally, dinner at town with classmates. (: 4e3 bbq on coming Monday! Finally can make it, haha. Sentosa with 0931B next week, probably Wednesday. SPF training on Thursday. Youth Workers' Honouring on next Saturday. That kind of sum up my March Break, with 10 assignments on hand.

Tu Zi from Superband will be performing too, I heard one of the girls is actually in our church. 10th April come soon, 'Evoke Your Dreams' is gonna rock the church! Jiayou, Ben's band. :D 29th March's coming, it'll be the Minister's visit to 242 Centre. Hmm, I was told that I'll be in charge of the games section. Got to be really focused this year, with a number of tasks on hand.

Youth Olympics Games 2010 currently has only 10, 000 volunteers, only meeting half the amount of manpower that they need. Mum doesn't allow me to go for it 'cause it'd really take up a lot of my time next year. Sigh, hope to convince her soon. Meanwhile, maybe enthusiastic people like Samantha would want to sign up. Haha! Okay just kidding, you guys study hard for Block Test k. (:

Come home, running.

Week 8 is over, time really flies. Anyway, I had a great week once again. Lectures & tutorials have been enriching for me. Wednesday after school had Pacer Rep briefing, we got postcards from the teacher-in-charge. Really nice photos taken over the few years of OCIP trip. So this year, I've to plan a COP (Community Outreach Project) for my class. & a teacher will be attached to about 3 to 4 classes, giving us advice & things like that. 31A, 31B & 32A falls under the same teacher! Miss Chua :D Haha, so the 3 of us might be thinking of combining our classes together & probably do a large-scale project. I realised many of our teachers in college are doing volunteering work outside, one even for eight years! But of course, an overseas trip for volunteer work would be another issue. Not really possible for whole class to participate, so a local one would be ideal. However, college organises OCIP every year, whether to Vietnam or Cambodia & even other countries. I won't want to miss it this year! Briefing ended an hour later, & there'll be another one held next week. Went for training at Innova Primary, it wasn't in the hall, it has a sports hall somewhere at the 1st level. Shocked (: J1s & J2s came, all perspiring & panting when I reached. Lol, nice one Coach.

Friday, took our 'A' levels Mother Tongue result! The anxiety just came naturally when I was in the hall. I got an A! Distinction for oral was quite unexpected, still thank God :D Congrats to JieKai, Jason, Samantha, Vanessa & Yvonne for getting As too! I guess overall, my class (0831A!) did quite well. Hah, no offence here but it was kind of suppressing when people around me kept saying things like, "Aiya, you'll get 'A' one lah .. ." At that moment, I was so afraid if I didn't get what I've expected. Now, I'm so relieved, & I believe others too. :)

2008 GCE 'A' level Examination results for Innova JC were not bad too! It was in the news, so I guess most have already watched it. If not, I've shared a link with my friend at Facebook, go have a look. :D Well done seniors, really. Was so excited when I heard the press will be coming & interview the top scholar. It goes to prove that we're not just a neighbourhood junior college, something I wanna say is that we've really dedicated teachers. (:

Milo Youth Tryathlon 2009

Power nap of 3 hours on Friday night, got up & tried completing all the tutorials first. 3am in the morning on Saturday, went out of the house & reached Hougang mrt at 4am. We reached Sentosa Tanjong Beach at 6am! Was dark, & they didn't have any lights there. One of the person in charge just used the torch light to mark our attendance, lol! Got to know Alzena from Simei Ite, & a group of students from River Valley High School. I was in the transition crew! It's hard to explain here, it's an area where participants will get on their bikes after they swam. Started raining at 7am, participants & families had to get into the shelter first, & of course we had to stay out in the rain to get our job done (parking of their bikes). Totally drenched, but unforgettable experience. Forutunately, I haven't change into the event t-shirt yet. (: The event had over 2400 participants, ages ranging from 7-18 years old, categories of Junior, Intermediate, Senior & Relay. I was put into the Juniors' section, really cute kids! I see parents helping their children prepare everything, instructing them what to do, encouraging them, lovely sight. But parents were not allowed in the transition area, though the crowd was controllable in the midst of the race. Innova sent two teams! & I didn't know Abel, Shengbao & the J1 girls joined. Timing wasn't taken, good try. (: Saw the J3 PE teacher currently in our college, Cheryl & 1 of the church youths. Haha. Nice day! Then, what I'm gonna say now is totally unexpected. We were given a pair of Crocs to wear, a Crocs cap, Subway for lunch, CIP hours will be given, & lastly we'll be given $20! It may not be a big sum of money, but afterall it's all the satisfaction you get after the event has ended. Yup, so volunteers basically wore the green Milo event t-shirt, crocs cap & crocs shoes. Cute, like some must-wear uniform. All these rewards came as a surprise for me, I could see the smiles on the volunteers' faces. :D

Overslept after I reached home, missed Zonal Bonding. ): Hope all the YPM_18 bonded well as a zone! Then it's back to tutorials again till now. Anyway Sam & Vaneh, hope you guys enjoyed the Marley & me movie? Well it's hard not to be, when two "spastic" kids are around. HAHA. Just kidding, reward yourselves once in a while! For the first time, I missed watching a movie! So not me. Common tests are coming for the J2s, remember, all As! (:

Ian & I have been buying hot coffee in the college everyday during break time, & he claimed that he's not a coffee addict. Haha well. I am anyway! Today's news reported that 6 cups of coffee per day will reduce the possibility of getting cancer. Hooray for caffeine! (:

Woke up at 8am on Saturday! I know it's quite abnormal of me. Haha. Met Ryan J, Yvonne, Ruijing & Yan Lin for study at Ryan's house. Some property at Serangoon Gardens. Anyway, we all live either in Hougang or Serangoon, so that explains the meetup. Niceeee house! Full of antiques. Left at 3pm for church. Ben was back, & Andrew came today! Thank God that lost sheeps are coming back. (: Dinner with Ryan J. at Chomp Chomp.

Today's sermon was about relating to our parents & siblings, honouring them instead of always "honouring" ourselves. I'm fortunate. Mum & Sis hold stable jobs, that's the case when you work for the government; when economic recession wouldn't have much impact on you. Dad's one would really have to depend on the economy. Communication was never a problem since young, we'd update one another what happened everyday in our lives. & every Sunday's officially the family day. Talking about freedom, my parents are really gracious about that. 'Cause my mum told me before, she wasn't given a lot of freedom when she was young. So she understood how it felt when parents don't allow her to stay out late. I think what Joshua said about having a sense of accountability spoke to me a lot. Not that I don't have any, but I always take it for granted. This can be really bad if it becomes a habit.

Then I mentioned that one of the many things that my parents did right was being punctual. I find people (including me in the past) always giving excuses when they're late, & they never blame it on themselves. The truth is that, they never made the effort to prepare early & get out of the house. I've my parents as role models to learn from, it's alright to reach half an hour earlier, or even one hour. Just, don't be late.

If you've read the newspaper recently, the turnout for the recent Job Fair was really overwhelming. IR has set aside 10, 000 job vacancies for next year, out of which 300 vacancies were catered to the Job Fair which ended today. 1000 people actually signed up for it! I foresee the disappointment of the remaning 700 people who get rejected. Indeed, recession's currently affecting so many people right now, even those living in landed property & all. One actually suggested that the government should provide a small sum of money to those who are jobless and also the sole breadwinner of the family. Sounds good eh, but how? That's another round of problem & consideration. May the recession end soon.

Last Saturday's and Sunday's sermon was good. On Saturday, Pst Lawrence talked about how to acquire wisdom for life. We can seek wisdom by being attentive, learning to listen, keep wisdom in sight and keep it inside. All these is certainly lacking in me, & I believe in many of us too. You can be attentive, but at the same time you're not listening, which means nothing gets into your brain. Keeping wisdom in sight & inside may not be easy for some of us, which basically means remember what you've learnt & put it into practice, at the same time also developing faith & conviction. On Sunday, He talked about growing our inheritance. Don't really understand the Word, but I guess it's all about our willingness to align our life with the purpose of God. Imagine every week, I get to learn so much from the Word of God.

School's been great. Thank God that I was able to adapt to my new class so quickly, 0931B. It's in accordance of the year, last year I was in 0831A. There's also a sudden change of CT a day ago, from Mr Khoo to Mr Sabar. So having to repeat JC1 again, it's a brand new start & changed attitude. Academic-wise, it's still manageable. I'm glad Math's lovable now, completed tutorials can make me satisfied. Dumb I know, but last year my Math grade was really bad. Still allocating my time equally for Econs, Geography & Physics.

My class can be so LOUD at times, dominated by girls you see. :D I've a classmate named Ryan Joshua! Cool name. Anyway, been hanging around with him & Ian in school, plus 7 more girls. The girls started calling me 'Mummy' since Thursday -.- I'm glad Jac & Liu Jen's appeal to another subject combination failed! Haha, so they'll still be in our class. (: Anyway, LiuJen said she can't bear to leave us what! On top of that, Ian & Ryan J. plan to start a prayer group within our class first. There's like 5 Christians & 1 Catholic in my class. Still working on it, & of course we hope to multiply from here! But for the time being I'll still ask them to attend the one in our college held every Friday. Also forming a study group, which starts tomorrow. Haha. Hope everything would turn out fine!

Nonetheless, I miss most of my classmates in 0831A. Sorry for being this honest, but I see no point in even lying about things like that. Anyway, you guys seemed so tired everyday! Please take care of yourselves during this period of time, perservere on & conquer 'A' levels. Remember the photo taken during the early part of last year, before Sun Meng, Liwen & Xiuwei left. Vaneh gave me a perpetual calender last year, it's titled "365 secrets to a Happy Life". So everyday there'll be a phrase printed on each page, so that sums up 365 secrets. What's interesting is that each phrase has got something to do with Christ. Thanks! I'll post some of them here.

Saturday after church went for dinner with Melvin Goh & co. After that headed back to church with Uncle Kk for "Light of love" event. Joe was the emcee for the day! & Joshua acted in the skit. No more seats available in the L2 auditorium so we sat outside, luckily there's a LCD television screening the event inside. Yup & Jacelyn Tay came. Really amazed & touched by her testimony. If some of you know, she was actually bankrupt a few years ago. However, things got better for her. She was saying during that period of time, each day she'll encounter a Christian approaching her & things like that. I find it so amazing. Hopefully, she'll be able to bring her friends, be it outside or Mediacorp, to know more about Christ. Another awesome thing is that her family became Christians not long after, before that they were strong believers of Buddhism. I actually took a video of the whole event, but couldn't upload it onto Blogger.

Sunday was at Jurong Point. Another part of it was just opened, with all the news shops. Didn't manage to go into all the shops though. It's like Paragon, they have the "old" & the "new" sections.

It's been a short 2 weeks being in my new class! 0931B, generally a noisy bunch. Mr Khoo appointed me to be the Pacer Rep, just because I had a bit of experience in my former Secondary School. So I'm thinking of planning for an overseas CIP trip, some of the guys said, "Vietnam!". Haha. Xinyi & Lorayne's also the Pacer Reps of their classes, maybe can come together & plan something exciting & meaningful.

Monday to Friday passed by really quickly! I'd just mention some of the things I remember. Gym with JieKai & Valent after school at Bukit Batok's gym. Really far. Elisa came & joined us for dinner, friendly senior! Wednesday after CCA went down to field to watch the soccer match between my school & Srjc team. Haha, of course I saw Lewis, WeiJie & Andrew. Well, in the end it was a draw. Friday's training was cancelled, so had lunch with Ian & co. at Causeway. I heard of the prayer group that my college has every Friday, in the afternoon. I think it's good, cause my college don't share anything about Christ at all. Anyway, it'd only be a small group of people. Will be going on next Friday (hopefully onwards too)! After that still be able to attend CCA. Thank God (:

Haha yeah, there's really so much I wanna blog about, so pardon me for this long post. During one of the days I was queuing up to deposit money, then the lady in front of me kept turning back to look at me. She finally asked me (cause I felt so uncomfortable) which junior college I'm from, telling me her daughter's in Srjc now. She started asking me about university stuffs & all, then I told her about my personal opinions. I actually said that I want to go overseas for my studies in university, what course I'm interested in. She said, "But overseas is quite dangerous you know, students murdering their classmates, robbery, raping .. etc. Singapore's safer, & also nearer to your home." I don't mind her for saying that, parents naturally have worries for their children if they were to go overseas for such a long period of time. I'm saying this because the day before I was checking out a few universities that have the courses I'm interested in (Business or Economics), & also the ranking as well. NUS's ranked the 135th in the world's ranking, out of 4000 universities worldwide. Economics course in one of the universities seemed rather manageable, Year 1 will be learning demand & supply, basically in that 3 years is about microeconomics & macroeconomics. Well, enough of it. Maybe by the time, I might change my mind of going overseas to study. God's prompting & parents' decision comes first. (:

Zonal bonding on 7th March. Milo Youth Tryathlon too, venue at Sentosa. Luckily they have chartered buses for the volunteers at various pickup points, thankfully one at Hougang Mrt. But the bus will leave at 4.20am, so I'll have to wake up at around 3am. Hopefully it'll end at noon? So to make it to church by 4pm. Don't wanna miss Zonal bonding! Plus we'll be in charge of the games. Anyway just now during dinner was discussing a bit with Smarts & Josh, then I happily & willingly accepted the title of being in "Logistics". Haha, sai kang okay what? Maybe I really have different views on it. Very envious of Smarties lah, he's in the logistics team for the church camp this year. Learning a lot from Joshua as well! He always update me on his experiences during the LEADs programme.

Called Mr Ng & he told me that he'll put me in the role of SPF for the pre-u seminar, basically is the games facilitator. I said okay, though I very much wanted the role of SLO last year. But I guess my mentality was wrong then, I should be more than happy that I get a chance to be involved in this year's pre-u seminar. It's a national event that every college in S'pore will take turn to host it. I'm very lucky, this year's Innova's turn! Moreover, it'll be held in NUS. I'd probably have to wait for another 15 years before Innova hosts it again, because they'll be rotating the "hosting" right each year. They have some more roles for the new JC1s, like Road Marshals or Ushers. I'm glad all the forms were being grabbed away instantly! Could really see the enthusiasm in them :D

Then, there's a Geography overseas trip to Kuantan in June (8-10th June) , & another one to China in Dec. The bad thing is if you go for either one, you won't be able to go for another. Because the teachers want to give opportunities to rest of the students. I guess I'll have to give Kuantan a miss. ):

Told you the post will be long, hah. In time to come, I want to be actively involved both in school & church. Certainly many tasks to accomplish, & goals to reach. Getting a driving liscense is a must as well. Finally can make it for Sunday service tomorrow! (:

We enjoyed crapping! ;D Wednesday's CCA fair! Had badminton training at usual time. Response was overwhelming! But unfortunately I guess we'll only select a few people to join the team. Ended at evening, 1 hour of gym with Lena. Haha! Then left to Causeway with Sam Van & Wx.

Can't wait for "Light of Love" on Saturday. Mediacorp artiste Jacelyn Tay's gonna come to church & share with us her encounter with God & more. It's Valentine's day too! (:
